COOKIES POLICY
This website uses cookies and similar technologies to ensure the proper functioning of procedures and to improve your experience using online applications. This notice provides with detailed information on cookies and similar technologies, on their use and their management.
A cookie is a small piece of text (letters and/or numbers) allowing a web server to store on a client (browser) information to be used during the visit to the site itself (session cookies) or later, even after several days (persistent cookies). Cookies are stored by the used browser on the used device (computer, tablet, smartphone) according to the preferences set by the user.
Similar technologies, like for example web beacon, clear GIFS and all forms of local storage introduced by HTML5, can be used to gather information about users’ activities and services’ use.
Hereafter cookies and any other similar technologies will be referred to simply as "cookies".
According to the different features and use of cookies, it is possible to list different categories:
By visiting a website it is possible to receive cookies both from the website itself (“First-party cookies”) and from sites managed by other organizations (“Third-party cookies”). A significant example is represented by the presence of Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn "social plugins". They are parts of the visited page that are generated directly by the above mentioned sites and incorporated in the host site. The most common use of social plugins is aimed at the sharing of contents on the social networks.
The presence of these plugins means the transmission of cookies from and to sites managed by third parties. The management of the information gathered by “third-parties” is regulated by the relevant notices, please read through them. To ensure a better transparency and convenience, please find here the addresses to the different notices and procedures to manage cookies.
The site includes some components sent by Google Analytics too, a service to analyze the web traffic delivered by Google, Inc. ("Google"). They are third-parties cookies as well, gathered and managed anonymously to monitor and improve the performance of the host site (performance cookies).
Google Analytics uses "cookies" to gather and analyze anonymously information on the use preferences of the site (User IP address included). Information is gathered by Google Analytics, which processes it in order to write out reports on the activities on the website for the site managers. This site doesn’t use (and doesn’t allow third-parties to use) Google’s analysis tool to monitor or to gather personal information that can identify users. Google doesn’t link an IP address to any other data owned by Google, and never tries to link an IP address to a user’s identity. Google can share this information with third-parties where provided by the law or in case these third-parties process this information on behalf of Google.
Visit this link for more information: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/
Users can selectively disable the functionalities of Google Analytics by installing on their browsers Opt-out Browser Add-on provided by Google. Visit this link to read more about how to disable Google Analytics: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
Lifetime of cookies
Some cookies (session cookies) are active till the browser is closed or the user logs out. Other cookies “survive” when the browser is closed and are available for further visits.
These cookies are called persistent cookies and their lifetime is set by the server when they are created. In some cases there’s an expiration date, in other their lifetime is unlimited.
Users can enable or disable cookies through the settings of their browsers. Warning: by partially or totally disabling technical cookies, the use of functionalities of the site reserved to registered users may be compromised. Anyway, access to public contents is always available, even when cookies are totally disabled. By disabling “third-parties” cookies, surfing isn’t compromised at all. Settings can be set specifically for the different sites and web applications. Moreover, the best browsers allow having different settings for “first-parties” and “third-parties” cookies. As an example, in Firefox it’s possible to open a control panel through menu Tools ->Options ->Privacy, where users can set whether to enable or disable the different types of cookies and even delete them.
